Dubbing
The dubbing of an actor in an audiovisual work, whether a film or a series, requires an actor's skills and technical competencies. An artistic director directs the dubbing actor and a sound engineer takes care of the recording.
When dubbing a film in a foreign language, the intention is to maintain the quality and standard of the original version, without the final piece losing any nuance. Therefore, the dubbing actor must adapt to the actor's interpretation, and faithfully transmit their emotions and feelings, putting themselves in his skin, in his voice but above all in his role.
At a technical level, it is about « placing » the voice over that of a foreign actor, following the movement of the actor's lips (lip sync) and « adjusting » to his performance. When receiving orders from different countries, Jean-Didier can work with any technique such as in France where a « bande rythmo » is followed, or with the text on paper as is usually done in studios in Spain.
